Day 9: On to Ho Chi Minh City

Day 9:  Good Morning Vietnam.  Some of the Mo-Phos have been sharing that their friends love traveling with us by reading the blog.  As the travel blogger, this keeps me blogging, so thank you.  It's easy to blog with the Mo-Phos.  As I've been sharing, the pictures write themselves.

This one looks like a picture when you buy a frame and they put one in it as an example.

You too can have pictures that look as nice as this one.

As we were checking out, I saw this one.  It's called Tranquility.  A perfect reminder from this hotel.  Stop with the hotel boasting Jeff.  Sorry.  Looks like he is searching for my Letter to Earth.

Where's Jeff's Earth Letter?
Bye bye Four Seasons, you will be missed.

Rowan Rears. They're so tiiiight

Money Talk:  Dong is the currency.  Basically, it is 24,500 Dong for $1.  A million dong is about $40.  Overall, Vietnam is very affordable.

Dongtastic.  Dongalicious.  Dongcredible

Today we are traveling to the big city, Ho Chi Minh.  We met Michael for an 8:30 am pickup.   In blog transparency, some of us didn’t love Michael because he was a bit of a Hoi An Hustler.  Meaning, the guides here get commissions on our purchases, so he pushed a bit for us to shop.  But I’m cool with it. Vietnamese forgive and we support their economy. Win. Win.

You guys want to stop at my brother's marble shop or my sister's diamond store?

We'll pass on those Mikey.  On our way to the airport we did stop at the beach.  I don't think Mikey earned a commission on the beach.  They used to call it China Beach.  But they don’t call it China Beach anymore, I guess because the Vietnamese don’t like China.

New Years Countdown (4 days)

Bye bye Mikey.  Master of the selfie.  Commission Chief.

Just kidding, you are a good guy Mike.  Now get us to the fucking airport please.  Some people when traveling do a prayer at the airport for safe travels.  Doodles on the other hand...

A prayer for stamina

Here’s when the morning got a little crazy.  So I go through security and remove everything. It’s almost a full strip down.  When I got to the gate, I realized that I forgot my Apple Watch in the security bin.  So I went back to security check and no Apple Watch.  Hmmm... I told security and they started to check the security footage.  When I tracked my watch on my phone, it looked like it was moving away from security to another gate.  Security?

ChanLumbo assigned to the case

So we followed my phone tracker and it led us to the plane on the tarmac ready for take off.  Sheryl convinced Chan and crew to go on the plane and follow the tracker.  Thanks Royal.  Ends up that they got the security footage and identified the crook and pulled him off the plane.  Here's a pic of the crook.

Apparently he has 91 prior criminal charges.  Hello 92.

Thank you team for getting my watch back.  Exhale.  All good.  It's only a watch.  We landed in Ho Chi Minh City and were greeted by Nuhan.  He seems like a good guy.

On your right is a famous Vietnamese drive through restaurant

I'll take the #3

On your left is a lot of fucking scooters.  We call them Hondas.

They are constantly looking for a place to park.

Take a ticket.  Insert ticket.

Ho Chi Minh City looks a lot like New York or another big city in Vietnam.  Very vibrant.  Lot's of construction and seems to be a growing economy.  Brad and I decided to contribute to the our favorite pizza economy - 4P's for lunch and a beer.  Here's looking at you B-Rad.

Here's looking at you Fiance's

Hubba.  Hubba.

After lunch, Nuhan recommended the rooftop at our hotel for a sunset cocktail hour before dinner.

My bro in-laws looking happy.  Love you guys.

We dined at a GREAT restaurant.  AnAn.  Another roof top that had something for everybody.  It had more drinks.

A communist meal flag...

Wagyu bagette with a touch of commi

And a special area for a place for prayer...

Doodles style...

All in all an great 1st night in HCMC. ..
