Days 15 to 18: Song Saa

Day 15 to 18:  The Pearls and Broudy's stayed in Cambodia for 4 more days.  Amy found a resort called Song Saa.  So this post will be our Trip Advisor post.  This one is hard not to hotel boast, which you know I don't like doing.  Let's just say, if you are in Cambodia and want to relax for 3-4 days Song Saa might be your place.

I did just a little research.  The resort is on a Cambodian private island that was purchased from local fisherman for $15,000 in 2006.  The designer is Melita Koulmandas.  She had a pretty cool vision.

The resort is a 35 minute boat ride from Sihanoukville - where we landed from Saigon.

Are we there yet?

Brad felt very adventurous and decided to water ski there.  I'm impressed.
You're doing great Brad!  Only 30 more minutes.

Finally, the landing dock.

The resort took 2 1/2 years to build.  That doesn't seemed that long.  Hundreds of villages worked on it.  Here is the walk to our Villa 2.

Stairway to Heaven

The backyard views are the Gulf of Thailand.  Brad wasted no time after a 35 minute water ski ride.

I'm digging the lanterns in Vietnam and Cambodia

Happy Hour on the restaurant deck

Very Happy Hour

I can't believe she only paid $15,000 for the island.  I know it was not ready for prime time, but seems like a steal.  Here is the island next door.  I think it was buy one island, get one free.

Song Saa means "The Sweethearts" in Khmer - their language.

I felt bad for the non-sweethearts.  This guy seemed to be traveling alone:(.  The Sweethearts resort does not seem like a place you want to travel alone too.

I spoke to him and he told me he was a swinger and is looking for other swingers.

Brad meet Sal
(the Swingers)

Do you think we can find a manicure place on the island?

How about this place?  You open?

What a waiting room.

Can we relax after?  It's been a hard day.

Zzzzzzzz.

No traffic home.

Meanwhile, back in the backyard.

You go.  No, you go.

How was Sal?

The dinner settings were amazing.  Every night, they invited us to a different location on the island.  The food is a solid 7.  Sushi is a 9.  Settings are 10's.

Dinner with our feet in the water.  Never did that before.

Private deck for dinner.  Special.

Goodbye Song Saa.
Love,
"The Sweethearts"
